Setting up the humidifier took about ten minutes, mostly just finding a spot on the nightstand away from electronics. Filled the tank with tap water, clicked it into the base, and adjusted the mist output dial to medium. The soft hiss started immediately, and within an hour the dry air felt noticeably less stuffy. I made sure to place it on a towel just in case of any drips.
